I cannot stand love songs. That may be hypocritical as a lager majority of my own poetry is about love. However, some of the poems I do not like because of my distain of writing about love. I think they are unoriginal and shallow artistically. However, I do enjoy an excellent love song, which is subject matter is unique. For example, the soft and tender melody of Nancy (Let Your Hair Down for Me) from Prefab Sprout’s 1988 album, From Langley Park to Memphis. This song about a couple were one of them is a higher position in an office where they both work and how this is impacting their relationship. This is my favourite love song. I hope you enjoy it as much as me.
